CHOOSING VOLLEYBALL CAMPS

Unlike a practice where there is a lot of scrimmaging and drilling, a camp will slow it down a little to make sure players develope a solid base to work from. The participants will learn the exact methods and skills such as setting a volleyball and passing a volleyball.



So What Should You Look for When Deciding on a Camp?

Choosing a camp is extremely important if you want to get your money’s worth. You have to be sure that the proper amount of technique, skill, and method are being taught at the camp. Do not send your kid to a camp that scrimmages the majority of the time.

Finding volleyball camps in your area is much easier now that most camps advertise on the internet. Simply go to a search engine and type in your area along with volleyball camps. There are a few factors that you will need to find out before choosing a camp.

1. What organization is running the camp? Likely the best volleyball camps in your areas will be offered by volleyball clubs. Go to their websites and do some research. Are they a good club? Are they successful? How long have they been around? The longer they have been around I would bet the better that their organization is. You will also find other random individuals or programs running camps. Again, do your homework.

2. Who is running the camp? Is the person a charge an All-American or a camp counselor? You will for sure find these people running camps and everything in between. Be sure to choose the one that you know for a fact will have the greatest knowledge.

3. Where is the camp located? Do not feel like you have to drive 4 hours to a good camp. Most likely this will be unnecessary. There are so many camps to choose from that you really should not have a problem finding one in your area.

Be sure, that when choosing a volleyball camp, you follow the suggestions above. You will for sure find some great camps and you may also find some terrible ones. Take action and call, ask questions, or even visit the camp before committing. You will be happy that you did.
